Best Places for Breakfast in Sioux Falls

Recently, I was asked to talk about the best breakfast places in Sioux Falls. There are so many options! But I will run down my thoughts and maybe you could share yours!
So let’s start with Pastries and Bakeries:

  • Queen City Bakery has an amazing rotation of scones, muffins and turnovers. They also offer quiche and bagel bombs. Have a delicious cup of coffee to round out your breakfast. You can even grab a slice of cake for later in the day.
  • Coffea has highly trained baristas. They must complete an intensive training so that they pour you the ideal cup of coffee. So, while you indulge in the intoxicating aroma of coffee, treat yourself to a scone or almond tea cake whipped up by the head baker everyday.
  • La Luna Cafe is a new little coffee shop that will delight you with decadent apple pie waffles or horchata waffles. The family run cafe treats you to a welcoming atmosphere.

Hearty Breakfasts that stick with you all day!

  • Rosie’s Cafe is a small town diner right here in Sioux Falls. Rosie’s has homemade hashbrowns and sausage gravy for your biscuits. Pancakes, eggs, sausage, toast…traditional breakfast through and through.
  • HyVee Market Grill Express is as fresh of a breakfast as you can get. Since they are attached to a grocery store, produce and meats are always fresh. Omelettes, skillets, pancakes, breakfast pizza can be prepared to order. If you would like a doughnut, bagel or roll, you can get that too.
  • Phillips Avenue Diner is a cute trip into the past in this retro-diner. Large breakfasts are definitely on the menu.

Something for Everyone!

  • Josiah’s Coffee House is a full-service bakery but also puts out a some very hearty breakfasts. My favorite is the Eggs Benedict but you can get breakfast sandwiches and pizza as well.
  • Agua Fresh is a smoothie and juice bar that offers up fruit bowls and breakfast wraps. So, if you are looking for something healthy and different, this is your stop for breakfast.
  • Kaladi’s Bistro has waffles, french toast and muffins along side omelettes, biscuits and gravy, or chicken fried steak.

So, if you are looking to start the day out on the right foot with a good breakfast, you can find whatever you are looking for in Sioux Falls! A couple of additions to the list above would be Gilberto’s Taco Shop where you can get a breakfast burrito 24 hours a day! Off the beaten path, Dareo’s pizza serves up a large breakfast whenever they are open.
